How do I update my Ford BlueCruise* maps?

Ford BlueCruise maps are updated automatically if you turn on automatic updates and set a daily schedule. This ensures BlueCruise maps are updated once available for your vehicle.

Updating Your BlueCruise Maps

To get updates for your BlueCruise maps:

  1. Confirm automatic system updates are on and scheduled to be received daily 
  2. Confirm Vehicle Connectivity is on

What if my BlueCruise map shows an expiry date that has passed?

If your maps are not updated before expiration, you will receive a SYNC®** pop-up message reminding you to update them. Visit your preferred Ford Dealer to update your BlueCruise maps.

Although a BlueCruise map expiration date may display on the SYNC screen, you should not lose your hands-free highway driving capability as long as you have an active BlueCruise subscription.

What if I experience issues updating my BlueCruise maps?

If you have issues such as your maps are not updating, or you are not receiving map updates, confirm if your map has an expiry date or a map part number.

  • If you see an expiry date, and it has passed, visit your preferred Ford Dealer to update your BlueCruise maps.
  • If you see a map part number, contact the Ford Customer Relationship Center using our Live Chat option or by calling 1-800-392-3673.

*Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s attention, judgment, and need to control the vehicle. BlueCruise is a hands-free highway driving feature. Only remove your hands from the steering wheel when in a Hands-Free Blue Zone. Always watch the road and be prepared to resume control of the vehicle. It does not replace safe driving. Requires purchased 3‑year connected service plan with regular map updates, FordPass® App, and modem activation.

**Don’t drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
