What is the Ford Connectivity Package?

The Ford Connectivity Package is a subscription plan for eligible vehicles that bundles Google Maps or Connected Navigation*, Wi-Fi hotspot**, and audio/video streaming. The package requires an initial set-up and offers several plan options for payment.

Notes: 

  • The Ford Connectivity Package is currently only available for 2025 model-year Mustang Mach-E and Expedition vehicles. 
  • The Ford Connectivity Package has a 1-year complimentary trial which requires a credit card activation.  Once the trial is over, a few different payment plan options are available.

Ford Connectivity Package Features

The Ford Connectivity Package includes different features between the Mustang Mach-E and the Expedition. Select a vehicle model from the drop-down options below to view details.

2025 Mustang Mach-E

The Mustang Mach-E uses SYNC®† 4A and includes the following features:

Connected Navigation

  • Intelligent range estimation based on real-time location and conditions impacting the distance to empty
  • Charging station locations, amenities, and automatic re-routing
  • Enroute preconditioning 
  • Navigation capabilities in cellular dead zones 

    Note: Connected Navigation is complimentary for the first 3 years. Afterward, access is bundled into the Connectivity Package.
     

Audio and Video Streaming

  • Audio streaming is available only through Alexa Built-in†† or the Stingray Karaoke® app. Apps that can be streamed via Alexa (e.g., Spotify) require the app to be connected to your Amazon and/or individual app accounts.
  • Video streaming is available through YouTube™ while the vehicle is parked or charging.

Wi-Fi Hotspot

  • Ability to connect up to 10 devices 
  • Speeds of up to 120 Mbps on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands 
  • Reliable coverage within 50 feet of the vehicle, with strong signal strength both inside and outside 
  • Latest Wi-Fi standards (802.11ac for 5GHz and 802.11ax for 6GHz) supported and operated on 2.4, 5, and 6GHz frequency bands

    Notes: 
    • Network speeds vary based on the carrier’s coverage.
    • Ford may temporarily slow your data speeds if such data usage reaches or exceeds 50 GB within a billing cycle, or due to network limitations.
    • If you use the Wi-Fi hotspot in a roaming country and more than 50% of data usage is in a 60-day period, your data plan may be removed or limited. 
       

Stingray Karaoke

  • Free access to over 80,000 songs across various genres and decades 
  • Available in 25+ languages with weekly updates 
  • Lyrics displayed on the vehicle's SYNC screen using Responsive Park mode 
  • Lyrics shown on your phone via QR code scan while in Drive mode as a safe experience, integrated with the Ford Passenger API

Voice Assistance using Alexa

  • Make phone calls
  • Control vehicle settings
  • Access navigation
  • Use media, flash briefings, interactive games, and smart devices

2025 Expedition

The Expedition uses Digital Experience and includes the following features:

Google Maps

  • Real-time traffic updates
  • Automatic rerouting 
  • Lane guidance
  • Voice control
  • Personalized navigation tailored to the driver 

    Note: This requires you being logged in to Google Maps.
     

Google Play

You will have access to any downloadable apps that can be classified as navigation, parking, audio/video streaming, podcasts, news, weather, and audiobooks. Examples per category include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Navigation: Waze
  • Parking: ParkWhiz, SpotHero
  • Audio Streaming: Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeart Radio
  • Video Streaming: Prime Video, Tubi, Max
  • Weather: Weather & Radar

Note: Google Play requires a signed-in Google account and a Wi-Fi connection to download apps.

Ford-Curated Apps

Auto-installed and default-checked Ford apps include the following:

  • Asphalt Nitro 2 (does not require connectivity)
  • Road.Travel
  • Webex
  • Stingray Karaoke®

Wi-Fi Hotspot

  • Ability to connect up to 10 devices

One-Time Purchase for a minimum of 7 YearsThis option can only be purchased from the Ford Dealer at the time of vehicle purchase.One-time payment of $745

No monthly fees. 

After 7 years, customers do not need to renew the plan. They will continue to receive access as long as the vehicle's modem can be serviced. 

The vehicle's modem must be activated.

Note: The one-time purchase option is the best value and offers a 17% savings compared to other annual subscription options.

Is this package included with the purchase of a new vehicle, or is it an additional cost?

The Ford Connectivity Package is available as a one-time purchase option through a Ford Dealer or order via the Build and Price tool, for $745, at point-of-sale or, one-year complimentary trial with auto-renewal post-delivery, with the purchase of a new 2025 Mustang Mach-E or Expedition vehicle. The one-time payment offer is a 17% savings when compared to the annual subscription and is a dealer exclusive (not available post-sale).
 

Is there a trial period for the Ford Connectivity Package?

Yes, there is a 1-year complimentary trial period for the Ford Connectivity Package. You have through the first year from the vehicle's warranty start date to activate the trial. This trial year begins upon activation. Activation requires credit card authorization and auto-renewal. Auto-renewal can be canceled at any time.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind after purchasing the one-time 7-year Ford Connectivity Package?

We apologize, but the one-time 7-year package is tied to the vehicle and cannot be refunded. However, if needed, certain features of the package can be toggled off to better suit your preferences.

Can I switch to the 7-year, one-time payment option after activating my complimentary trial?

The 7-year one-time payment option is only available when ordering through the Build and Price tool, or at the Ford Dealer when purchasing the vehicle. Once the vehicle has been purchased, the one-time payment option is no longer available.

Renewal and Cancelation FAQs

How often do I need to renew the Ford Connectivity Package?

You will need to renew the Ford Connectivity Package after the complimentary trial with the annual subscription plan.

Is the renewal process automatic, or do I manually need to renew the package after the trial ends?

Auto-renewal requires credit card authorization and consent to activate the renewal process. If you opt for the one-time payment of $745 at order or point of sale, no further renewals are needed.

Will I receive a reminder before the package needs to be renewed?

You will receive a reminder before your package needs to be renewed if you have authorized auto-renewal with your credit card. The renewal process will be automatic if your payment information is current.

What happens if my card is lost or canceled?

At the end of the 1-year trial, an attempt will be made to process the transaction; if it fails, the subscription will be canceled the following day. You will receive an email notification about the payment failure, and you will need to update your payment method and resubscribe to continue the service.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, as with most Ford services, you can cancel your trial or subscription at any time. If you are subscribed to a paid plan (monthly or annual), you will receive a 100% refund if you cancel within 14 days of activation. After 14 days, no refund will be issued, but the service will remain active until the end of the current billing cycle, and you can cancel before the next renewal.

Is the Ford Connectivity Package available for all Ford models?

The Ford Connectivity Package is not yet available for all Ford models. Currently, it is specifically offered for the 2025 model-year Mustang Mach-E and Expedition vehicles.

For future 2025 or 2026 model-year vehicles, it is best to check with your Ford Dealer or visit the Ford website for updates. The package is also not yet available for pre-2025 model-year vehicles, but more information may become available in the future.

When is the Ford Connectivity Package available for purchase?

The Ford Connectivity Package is available only for 2025 model-year Mustang Mach-E and Expedition vehicles, which comes with a 1-year complimentary trial.

When does the trial start? Can I initiate it anytime?

If you pre-ordered the vehicle and signed up for the complimentary trial via the e-commerce journey, the trial for the Ford Connectivity Package starts from the vehicle's warranty start date but is activated by modem authorization (as some features require this authorization to function). 

If you did not pre-order, the trial begins on the initiation date through FordPass®†, the Ford website, or Connected Services after vehicle delivery. The trial must be initiated within the first year from the modem authorization date and can be re-activated within the trial period from the initial activation, though the trial clock continues to run without pause.

Does the trial or subscription transfer with ownership transfer (e.g., if the vehicle is resold in 6 months)?

Trial Period

When a vehicle is sold, a factory reset will be completed and your subscription will be canceled within 14 days. The new customer can reauthorize the modem and reactivate the trial for the remainder of the 1-year trial duration from the initial activation start date.

Annual Subscription

When a vehicle is sold, a factory reset will be completed and your subscription will be canceled within 14 days.

One-Time Purchase

When a vehicle is sold, a factory reset will be completed. The Ford Connectivity Package will still be available on the vehicle until a minimum of 7 years from the warranty start date. The new customer must add the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to their FordPass®† App and authorize the modem to gain access to all the features. 

Does factory resetting the vehicle cancel my trial or subscription?

If you perform a factory reset, you have 14 days to re-authorize the modem using the FordPass®† App before the trial or subscription cancelation. 

If you remove the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) from FordPass, the trial or subscription will be immediately canceled.  

Does the complimentary trial transfer to a new owner if it has not been initiated yet?

The trial can be activated by the new owner within a year from the vehicle's warranty start date.

Can you separately subscribe to services included in the package?

No. Services in the package are only available via the Connectivity Package for 2025 model-year Mustang Mach-E and Expedition vehicles.

I have a complimentary 3-year Connected Navigation service included with my Mustang Mach-E. What will happen to this service if I choose not to renew my Ford Connectivity Package?

For 2025 model-year Mustang Mach-E vehicles, you can still enjoy Connected Navigation for the remaining 2 years of the 3-year complimentary trial included with your purchase, but you will not be able to enjoy and utilize the other services within the Ford Connectivity Package. At year 4, you will need to purchase the Connectivity Package to continue to enjoy Connected Navigation. 

Will the package work if I travel outside the U.S. or Canada?

No, the service will not work outside the U.S. or Canada.
