3X Series Software Update

Feature Highlight: 3.X Series Software Update

3.X series software update starting in October 2022

What Version 3.X Series Software Update Does

The 3.X series software update provides a number of vehicle feature improvements for Mustang Mach-E® owners. Availability of some of these features and their updates does vary by model and is subject to change.

Which Vehicles Are Receiving This Software Update

Most Ford owners with the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E model may have started receiving this 3.X series software update starting since back in October 2022. Please note this is a phased rollout and not all owners will receive these updates at the same time. Check the FordPass® App* or your in-vehicle settings for your latest software updates.

What’s Included in This Software Update Series

The 3.X series includes a variety of feature updates and improvements in-vehicle as well as in-app:

  • Battery range and charging: This update improves the accuracy of the "distance to empty" measurement for the battery charge range in your Mustang Mach-E SUV. It will use your driving behaviors to help make more precise estimates, especially on longer trips. This can help you drive your EV with even more confidence now.
  • Driver assist: Mustang Mach-E SUV vehicles equipped with the Ford Co-Pilot360® Active 2.0 Prep Package will have their Ford BlueCruise** hands-free highway driving feature added (if not previously installed).
  • Information, virtual assistance, and entertainment:
    • Alexa Built-in: Make a call, check the weather, interact with your smart-home devices, make a shopping list, ask for a joke. Just about anything you use Alexa for at home, you’ll be able to do in your vehicle. Plus, add Ford Premium Connectivity and listen to music and podcasts. You’ll know it’s time to activate Alexa when the icon appears on your SYNC® 4†† Technology screen. Just click on it and follow the steps to register. Remember, your vehicle must have Enhanced Voice Recognition and an activated modem. And, of course, you’ll need an Amazon account.
    • Advanced Dual Phone: Access two phones at the same time without having to modify the settings. With this software update you can easily access both phones for incoming calls, contacts, text messages, emails, and more.
    • Games: Have fun while charging up with new and entertaining games. In the lane change game, dodge cars while you collect points and avoid getting squashed. If you’re into numbers, try the always-challenging sudoku brain teasers. Or go classic and try one of the auto-themed Jigsaw Puzzles.
    • Video streaming:‡‡ Charging your vehicle is about to get way more entertaining. With this latest software update, you will soon be able to watch video streaming on your SYNC 4A Technology screen while parked. To get started, while in Park just tap on the top center icon and select the entertainment tab, then choose your favorite streaming application. Lean back and catch up on your favorite TV shows, follow the latest world news, laugh at silly videos, or simply pass the time any way you prefer. All you need is a Ford Premium Connectivity service plan or a Wi-Fi connection to start watching. For more details on Ford Premium Connectivity, visit the Connected Services section in the FordPass App or visit Ford.com/technology/connected-services. 5
  • Heating and cooling: We’ve improved the touchscreen menu to make your climate controls easier to find and faster to use. Because when you want heat or A/C, you need them now.
  • Remote access: With this software update there are more ways to find your parked Mustang Mach-E SUV. You can now also use your FordPass App on your smartphone to activate your horn and lights in addition to your key fob, as always. And because it’s on a cellular connection from your smartphone, there’s virtually no limit to how far away you can activate your vehicle horn and lights as there is with your key fob.
