How do I remove FordPass modem access for authorized users?

You can complete a FordPass® Connect* Reset on your vehicle's SYNC®** or Digital Experience screen. For more information, refer to the steps below. 

Important:

  • This reset removes all FordPass Connect accounts linked to your vehicle. 
  • To remove all previous owners, users, data, and in-vehicle settings, perform a factory reset. A factory reset also deletes your navigation favorites, SiriusXM® Radio presets, and makes all SYNC 4A and SYNC 4 subscriptions unavailable for up to 10 days. 
  • Your vehicle must be parked and running, and in an open location (e.g., free of overhead foliage, ceilings, etc.). 

Resetting FordPass Connect

Select your SYNC generation or Digital Experience from the drop-down options below to learn how to reset your vehicle's FordPass Connect modem. If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, refer to the SYNC Visual Reference Guide.

Digital Experience

  1. Tap the Apps icon on your vehicle's Digital Experience screen.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Select System.
  4. Tap Reset Options.
  5. Choose Connectivity Reset.
  6. Select Erase network data.

You can now connect to your vehicle again for remote control access.

SYNC 4A | SYNC 4 | SYNC 3

  1. Tap Settings on your SYNC screen.
  2. Scroll down and select Reset.
  3. Scroll down and select FordPass Connect Reset. 
  4. Close and reopen FordPass once the reset is complete. 

You can now connect to your vehicle again for remote control access.

How do I remove a previous owner's access to my vehicle?

*FordPass® Connect, the FordPass App, and complimentary Connected Service are required for remote features (see FordPass Terms for details). Connected service and features depend on compatible AT&T network availability. Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features. Connected service excludes Wi-Fi® hotspot.

**Don’t drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible.  Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
