Why am I no longer able to use the FordPass®* remote functions when using a cellular connection?

Due to software advancements, the cellular connectivity requirements for some FordPass features will no longer be compatible in vehicles that do not have a FordPass® Connect** modem.

Important: Impacted vehicles include Brazil Territory 2021 and 2022 model years as well as Mexico Figo 2020 model year.

For those vehicles impacted, we regret that support will end after April 3, 2023, for the features listed below:

  • Remote start***/stop
  • Remote lock/unlock****
  • Vehicle details & location 

*The FordPass App, compatible with select smartphone platforms, is available through a free download. Message and data rates may apply.

**FordPass Connect (optional on select vehicles), the FordPass App, and Complimentary Connected Services are required for remote features (see FordPass Terms for details). Connected Services and features depend on compatible AT&T network availability. Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features. Connected services exclude Wi-Fi hotspot.
