How do I program a personal keyless entry code for my Ford?
You can create up to five personalized keyless entry codes that are easy to remember using the keypad on the door or your SYNC®* system (if equipped).
You will need the original five-digit keyless entry code. You can find it printed on the owner’s wallet card in the glove compartment or through one of the other methods here.

Programming a Personal Keyless Entry Code With the Keypad
- Enter the five-digit factory-set code.
- Press 1•2 on the keypad within five seconds.
- Enter your personal five-digit code. You must enter each number within five seconds of each other.
- Press 1•2 on the keypad to save personal code 1. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm that you have successfully programmed a personal entry code.
Programming Additional Personal Keyless Entry Codes With the Keypad
- Enter the five-digit factory-set code.
- Press 1•2 on the keypad within five seconds.
- Enter your personal five-digit code. You must enter each number within five seconds of each other.
- Press 3•4 to save personal code 2.
- Press 5•6 to save personal code 3.
- Press 7•8 to save personal code 4.
- Press 9•0 to save personal code 5.
Programming a Keyless Entry Code with SYNC 3
If your vehicle is equipped with SYNC 3, you can set your own five-digit keyless entry code using the touchscreen.
- Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Choose the Vehicle tile.
- Tap Door Keypad Code.
- Enter the factory-set five-digit entry code in order to edit the keypad code.
- Click on Add.
- Follow the prompts to add your personal code(s).
Programming a Keyless Entry Code with SYNC with MyFord Touch®
- Tap the Gear icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Tap Vehicle.
- Select Door Keypad Code.
- Enter your five-digit factory code.
- Select Add.
- Follow the prompts to program up to five personal codes.
Notes:
- Do not set a code that uses five of the same number.
- Do not use five numbers in sequential order.
- The factory-set code will work even if you have set your personal code.
