How do I connect a Bluetooth®* device to a vehicle without SYNC®**?

You can pair your Bluetooth device to your Maverick, Transit, or Ranger using your vehicle's touchscreen.

Pairing Your Bluetooth Device

Select your vehicle from the drop-down options below to learn how to connect your phone to the radio.

Note: The only vehicles capable of connecting to Bluetooth that do not have a SYNC system are listed in this article. 

2022 Model Year and Newer Maverick Trucks

To pair your phone with your Maverick truck radio:

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your device. 
  2. Press Settings on the Feature bar on the vehicle's touchscreen.
  3. Tap Bluetooth.
  4. Slide the Bluetooth toggle to On.
  5. Choose Add a Bluetooth Device. You will be prompted to search for your vehicle on your Bluetooth device.
  6. Select the vehicle on the device. A number will appear on your device and your vehicle's touchscreen.
  7. Confirm the number on the device matches the one on your touchscreen. The touchscreen will display you have successfully paired your device.

2015 Model Year and Newer Transit Vans

To pair your phone with your Transit van radio:

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your device. 
  2. Press Settings on the Feature bar on your vehicle's touchscreen.
  3. Tap Bluetooth.
  4. Slide the Bluetooth toggle to On.
  5. Choose Add a Bluetooth Device. You will be prompted to search for the vehicle on your Bluetooth device.
  6. Select your vehicle on the device. A number will appear on your device and your vehicle's touchscreen.
  7. Confirm the number on the device matches the one on the touchscreen. The touchscreen will display you have successfully paired your device.

2019 Model Year and Newer Ranger Trucks

To pair your phone with your Ranger truck radio:

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your device.
  2. Press the Phone button on the vehicle's touchscreen.
  3. Select BT Devices
  4. Follow the prompts on the screen to connect your device. The touchscreen will display you have successfully paired your device.
