Best-in-Class Available Towing Capabilities

The F-150 was built with strength and power in mind. And to prove it, it outperforms its competitors with best-in-class available towing.* With software calibrated specifically for 4x4 and 4x2 truck use, including drive modes to better manage towing, your new F-150 can now:

  • Improve transmission operation when towing
  • Shift to higher engine speeds to reduce the frequency of shifting
  • Provide engine braking in all forward gears, slowing your vehicle and helping control when descending

Use the available Pro Trailer Back-up AssistTM or Trailer Reverse Guidance to more safely move your vehicle when a trailer is attached.

Towing a trailer places an extra load on the vehicle's engine, transmission, axle, brakes, tires and suspension. It's best for drivers to periodically inspect these components during and after any towing operation as well as understand proper towing capacity and safety.
