How do I find the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating for my Ford?
The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of a vehicle is shown on the vehicle’s Safety Compliance Certification Label, located on the driver's side door lock facing or the door latch post pillar.
GVWR is the maximum allowable weight of the fully loaded vehicle (including passengers and cargo). The Gross Vehicle Weight (scale-measured weight of truck, cargo, and passengers) should never exceed the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.
If attempting to determine the maximum allowable cargo capacity, we recommend weighing the vehicle with passengers on a commercial vehicle scale. The difference between the scale weight and the GVWR can be considered the maximum cargo capacity.
