2023—2024 Ford Transit® Vehicles — Potential 9.75” Rear Axle Tail Bearing Seizure Recall
Recall Reference Number: 24S05
Building vehicles you can count on is one of our most important jobs, which is why Ford has issued a recall on certain 2023–24 model year Ford Transit vehicles.
Some vehicles don’t have enough lubricant to prevent rear axle overheating or failure. If this happens, rear wheel lock-up and possible driveshaft separation may cause loss of vehicle control or vehicle power, increasing the risk of crash or injury. Driveshaft separation may also cause the vehicle to move while in Park if the parking brake is not applied.
Customers included in this recall should take their Ford Transit vehicle to a Ford Dealership to have the rear axle inspected. It will be worked on or replaced, if needed. To see if your vehicle is included, enter your VIN here.
You can book an appointment online, in your FordPass® App, or contact your local Ford Dealer.
