How are Ford recalls determined?

Ford Motor Company and the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) work together to proactively identify areas of concern through investigation of consumer and dealer feedback. During an investigation, Ford cooperates fully with NHTSA.

All recall programs are Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)-specific. Vehicles involved in a recall may be identified by specific build dates within a model year, the assembly plant, or other factors. If a program is announced on a vehicle, Ford will notify the last owner of record by mail.

If your vehicle is involved in a recall, contact your Ford Dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment.
