How do I change the Wi-Fi hotspot* password in my Ford?

You can modify your vehicle's Wi-Fi hotspot password using SYNC®**.

Changing Your Wi-Fi Hotspot Password

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to change your Wi-Fi hotspot password.

Note: If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.

Your SYNC generation will appear on the right side of the page under the SYNC Current Version heading.

  1. Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen. If you see a Home icon instead of Settings, select the Home icon. 
  2. Select either Wi-Fi & Hotspot or FordPass Connect.
  3. Press Settings.
  4. Choose Edit.
  5. Select Change Password.
  6. Enter your new password.
  7. Tap Done.

  1. Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select either Wi-Fi & Hotspot or FordPass Connect.
  3. Press Settings.
  4. Choose Edit.
  5. Tap Change SSID Name.
  6. Enter your SSID Name. This is the name of your vehicle's Wi-Fi hotspot. 
  7. Press Done
  8. Select Change Password.
  9. Create a password.
  10. Choose Done

*Connected service and features depend on AT&T network availability and compatible plan. 5G not available everywhere. Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features. Connected service excludes Wi-Fi hotspot. Available Wi-Fi hotspot requires separate AT&T subscription.
