How do I update my SYNC settings preferences?

You can adjust the time, Bluetooth® connected devices, driver-assist features, and more in the Settings menu for your SYNC®* 4A and 4 systems using the steps below. 

Changing SYNC Preferences

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to modify your SYNC settings. If you need assistance identifying your SYNC generation, refer to the SYNC Visual Reference Guide.

SYNC 4A

  1. Tap the Settings or Home icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Adjust any of the following settings:
    • Clock: Set time, select mode, auto daylight savings time, and more
    • Sound: Adjust speaker preferences
    • Bluetooth: Edit the Bluetooth-enabled device list
    • Driver Assist: Lock in the preferences for driver-assist technology use
  4. Tap Apply to save the changes.

SYNC 4

  1. Select the Settings tile on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Adjust any of the following settings:
    • Clock: Set time, select mode, auto daylight savings time, and more
    • Sound: Adjust speaker preferences
    • Bluetooth: Edit the Bluetooth-enabled device list
    • Driver Assist: Lock in the preferences for driver-assist technology use
  4. Select Apply to save the changes.

*Don’t drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
