How do I use the SYNC® 4 Technology Navigation Systems?

Easygoing, even when the road isn’t

SYNC 4 Technology* is the smartest version ever created. It’s designed to know what you need when you need it and smart enough to predict where you’re going and the fastest way to get there using real-time navigation and traffic data gathered from the all-knowing cloud.

What is Ford SYNC 4 one-step navigation?

While voice commands have been an integral part of the SYNC navigation experience for some time, SYNC 4 and SYNC 4A bring the ease of advanced conversational language command to the driver’s seat. Just ask the system to take you to your destination and let the software do its job. Along the way you’ll get:

  • Real-time weather updates
  • Information, traffic conditions and construction delays
  • Fuel station locations, or charging sites for battery electric vehicles
  • Parking locations and pricing
  • Local and national restaurant listings, with Yelp reviews

Ford Mustang Mach-E navigation

In this, the advent of what we like to think is an electric vehicle (EV) revolution, the way Ford Mustang Mach-E drivers plan their trips has changed as well. You can’t rely on highway signage or standard navigation to guide you to the nearest roadside oasis of charge station, coffee, fast food and restrooms.

Introducing FordPass® Power My Trip

FordPass Power My Trip makes trip planning hassle-free by considering your all-electric vehicle’s current state of charge and identifying charging points along your route. It:

  • Provides you with the ability to input trips into the SYNC 4A system with advanced natural voice recognition or ahead of time using FordPass Connect™**
  • Automatically maps out and adds charging stations to your route and suggests appropriate charging times so you’re never left stranded.
  • Uses a series of data points — including outside temperature, driving style, elevation fluctuation and road surface — to enhance performance, adapt range and suggest charging frequency accordingly.

Ford F-150 SYNC 4 towing navigation

2021 Ford F-150 is capable of some hefty on-road towing. It’s also extremely intelligent when it comes to on-road navigation. Along with all the technology embedded in Ford SYNC 4 and 4A, the F-150 towing navigation feature provides:

  • Route mapping based on trailer profile, such as avoidance of narrow roads
  • Additional route avoidance, such as bridges with weight limits
  • Obstacle alerts, like steep hills when a more efficient and safe route is available
  • Modified points of interest, including trailer-friendly rest areas
