Adventure was in Kayla’s blood from the jump, with the initial spark provided by her father. But if you ask about her greatest influence, Kayla proudly names herself. Because thinking of the unsettled person she was at age 15 pushes her harder to keep growing and thriving. That drive has powered her around the globe to all kinds of accomplishments: from teaching foster kids how to fly fish to camping in the Colombian jungle and catching the notoriously elusive payara (vampire fish). Having been many miles down a rocky path in life, Kayla has a DIY solution: “If you don’t like the road you’re on, pave a new one.”
